12: What, no warning sign about how you could poke your eye out with it?
The above warning sticker was placed on the pen from today that has a motif of all the continents along with the latitude/longitude grid along the bottom half. The continents look like they are being reflected in a fun-house mirror, all tall and skinny. It just looks wrong. I'm not sure what the deal is with work giving out pens as tokens of recognition. The vast majority of my job is spent on the computer and the rest is spent in meetings. Maybe they think that the meetings won't be so unbearable if we have fancy pens to take notes with. Most of the pens end up just piled into a drawer and to date there's only one that I used. It has a sort of adjustable grip that comes from three prongs protruding from the pen when you twist it which made it fun to play with when in those meetings.
The thing about pens is I have my favorites depending on what I'm doing. For taking general notes, when I don't opt for the mechanical pencil (0.5 please), I typically grab an extra fine tip pen (current favorite is the Pilot Precise Grip). When it comes to the small notebook I carry everywhere, there is only one pen for me - the retro ballpoint from Rockets. If I recall correctly (and if I don't, I'm sure G will correct me), the first Rockets pen came my way in a box of random crap. It just happened to be the perfect size to slip down into the binder rings of my notebook and secure with the clip. Oh, and it writes quite smoothly too. I've gone through several over the years and am down to my last one which I almost lost when a lady at the cooking class collected it. Luckily I realized it before leaving and was able to retrieve it. And yes, I'm totally fishing for some more Rockets pens. Christmas is coming up...
We saw a buch of the smart cars here in Colorado. The local dealer ran out of them quicky. When I'm ready for a new car to poke around town in...that is my car! It is super cute!
