Ed Kowalczyk (of LIVE) at the not world famous KLLY Lounge
The tagline that one of the local radio stations, KLLY 95.3, uses for their special promotional concerts is "the world famous KELLY Lounge." I don't buy it and I never have. I can rattle off several radio stations who's private concerts are indeed world famous such as KFOG, KINK, KBCO, and KCRW. All of these stations have regular special performances and put out benefit cds of these performances that sell out so quickly you have to resort to eBay auctions to get one. World famous indeed.
That said, I should thank KLLY for the tickets to not only Daniel Powter last week, but Ed Kowalcyzk of Live tonight. He's out making the circuit to promote "Songs from Black Mountain," Live's upcoming album. He only played a handful of songs (The River, Heaven, Lightening Crashes, and Mystery) but my oh my were they good. I've previously seen Live twice as a full band when they were touring with Counting Crows, but it's always a treat when you can see an artist play their music with just an acoustic guitar. Stripped down to the essence.
